Oxford AQA offers international versions of AQA's qualifications, keeping the linear assessment style but adding a January series. It is a smaller board than Cambridge or Edexcel, which means fewer subjects but closer alignment with the AQA specifications many international schools already teach.

Worth knowing about Oxford AQA International
The specifics below are the ones that change how you should plan. Always check the current specification with your school or the awarding body — specifications get revised, and the version you are entered for is the one that counts.
Assessment is linear rather than unitised, so the full qualification is examined at the end even though there are two series a year.
The subject list is narrower than Cambridge's, so international schools often mix Oxford AQA with another board across a student's timetable.
Specifications track AQA's domestic ones closely, which means AQA-oriented teaching materials usually transfer well.
The January series is useful for students who arrive mid-year from another system and need to certificate sooner.

Oxford AQA International: fair questions
Is it the same as sitting AQA in England?
Closely related but not identical — the specifications are built from AQA's, adapted for an international cohort, with January as well as June series. Tell the teachers which one you are entered for; the timetable differs even where content does not.
Can I mix Oxford AQA with other boards?
Yes, and many international schools do because the subject list is narrower. Set the board per subject during onboarding and each plan follows its own specification and timetable.
Do UK universities recognise it?
Yes — Oxford AQA International A-levels are accepted for UK admissions on the same basis as domestic A-levels, and are quoted in the same grades.
