How much does semester one matter?

As much as any other — it is banked into the CGPA from the start. That is the single most common STPM mistake: treating the first semester as a warm-up when it is already scoring.

How do I handle coursework alongside exams?

By scheduling it explicitly each semester. Coursework has deadlines that do not move, and in a three-semester structure there is no quiet term in which to catch up.

Do I need MUET?

For public university admission through UPU, yes. It sits alongside STPM rather than within it, which means it needs its own place in the plan.
