Worth knowing about Matriculation & Intermediate

Part I and Part II marks aggregate into the final result, so a weak first year has to be carried rather than forgotten.
Different regional boards set their own papers, so past papers from your own board are more useful than generic ones.
Practical examinations are conducted separately and carry marks in the science subjects.
Group selection at Intermediate — pre-medical, pre-engineering, commerce or humanities — determines which entrance tests you are eligible for.
Supplementary examinations allow a failed subject to be retaken without repeating the year.

Do Part I marks really matter?
They aggregate into the final result, so yes — and because they arrive first, they are the ones most often treated as a rehearsal. A weak Part I puts a ceiling on the aggregate that Part II cannot fully lift.
Which past papers should I use?
Your own board's. Papers differ between regional boards, and practising against another board's style is a subtle but real waste of preparation time.
How do I prepare for entrance tests alongside boards?
