Bachillerato and the EBAU — the university entrance exam that can take your mark above 10.
Spanish university admission combines your Bachillerato average with the EBAU, the university entrance examination still widely known as Selectividad. The admission mark runs up to 14, because optional EBAU subjects weighted by your intended degree can add up to four points on top of the base 10.

The calendar you are actually planning against
- Academic year
- Mid-September to late June.
- Exam season
- EBAU in June, with a second convocatoria in July.
- University entry
- The admission mark is 60 per cent Bachillerato average and 40 per cent compulsory EBAU phase, giving a base out of 10, plus up to four points from optional subjects weighted for your chosen degree. Places are allocated in descending order of mark, so the cut-off for each degree moves annually.

They are AI, and we will not pretend otherwise. What is real is the work they produce against Spanish requirements.
Daniel · Study planner
Builds the week backwards from the real timetable. EBAU in June, with a second convocatoria in July. Sessions go into your calendar as real events, not onto a wall chart.
Sarah · Subject tutor
Explains what you are stuck on at the level your qualification actually assesses, then checks you have understood it.
Margaret · Librarian
Finds sources, summarises them at three depths, and formats citations in MLA, APA, Chicago or Harvard.
Tommy · Quizzer
Turns what you have understood into spaced-repetition cards and brings them back until you can recall them cold.
Eleanor · Writing coach
Reviews essay structure and argument, and tells you where a marker would lose the thread.
Charles · Citation checker
Verifies every in-text citation resolves to a real entry in your bibliography.
Penny · Proofreader
Catches grammar, spelling and clarity problems without flattening your voice.
Sam · Accountability
Tells you honestly when the plan has stopped being realistic, early enough to change it.
Spain: fair questions
How do the optional subjects work?
They are weighted by the degree you are applying for, with the best two counting — so the same subject can be worth 0.2 for one degree and 0.1 for another. Choosing them against your target degree rather than against your comfort is worth several tenths.
Is the July convocatoria worth taking?
It exists for improving a mark or for a first sitting, and improving is common. It is a short window, so knowing which subjects you would retake before June results arrive makes it far more useful.
Can you work in Spanish or Catalan?
Yes — the teachers explain and discuss in Spanish and in the co-official languages. Tell Sarah which language your papers are in.
