Junior Cycle grades do not feed into CAO points, but they inform which Leaving Cert levels a school will let you take.

Not for university entry — they carry no CAO points. They matter practically: schools use them to decide who goes into Higher level Leaving Cert classes, and that decision is harder to reverse than it looks.
