Worth knowing about CBSE
The specifics below are the ones that change how you should plan. Always check the current specification with your school or the awarding body — specifications get revised, and the version you are entered for is the one that counts.
NCERT textbooks are the effective syllabus, and the board papers stay close to them — which is why NCERT line-by-line coverage is standard advice for both boards and NEET.
The Class 12 Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics syllabus is the foundation of JEE preparation, though JEE asks much harder questions of the same content.
Internal assessment and practical components carry marks in the sciences and are examined separately from the theory paper.
CBSE has been moving Class 10 towards more than one examination opportunity in a year — check the current circular for your session rather than relying on last year's pattern.

Are NCERT books really enough?
For the boards, largely yes — the papers stay close to them. For JEE they are the necessary foundation but not sufficient, because the questions go well beyond what NCERT asks of the same content.
How do I balance practicals with theory?
Give practicals their own scheduled sessions rather than assuming they will absorb from theory revision. They carry marks, they are assessed separately, and they are where students who know the theory well still lose marks.
When should I start Class 12 revision?
Recall practice from the start of Class 11, because the entrance exams assume both years are live in memory simultaneously. Tommy queues concepts as you cover them, so February is consolidation rather than a two-year rebuild.
