Worth knowing about NEET UG
The specifics below are the ones that change how you should plan. Always check the current specification with your school or the awarding body — specifications get revised, and the version you are entered for is the one that counts.
Biology carries half the marks, which makes it the highest-leverage subject — but Physics is where most candidates lose rank, because it is the least forgiving under time pressure.
The paper stays close to NCERT content, so line-by-line NCERT familiarity is the standard and largely correct advice.
Negative marking combined with a huge cohort means accuracy matters more than attempting everything.
With one sitting a year, there is no best-of-attempts safety net — the plan has to peak on one day.
Rank, not mark, determines the seat, so performance relative to a very large cohort is what actually counts.

NEET UG: fair questions
How much should I prioritise Biology?
It is half the paper, so it deserves the largest share — but it is also where most candidates are already strong, which means Physics often decides your rank. Worth planning on the margin rather than on the mark split.
Is NCERT really enough for NEET?
For Biology, close to it. For Physics, no — the question style demands problem practice well beyond what NCERT asks, and that gap is where ranks are made and lost.
How do I peak for a single exam date?
